On Education:
Repeal Common Core; it's unconstitutional
Glenn is in strong opposition to the implementation of the Common Core State Standards in Wisconsin. The top-down federal control of our education system is not only an egregiously wrong approach to education, it's in opposition to the United States
Constitution. Glenn has repeatedly voted against Common Core and all of its various components, and he has sponsored legislative proposals to repeal Common Core in Wisconsin. He will continue this fight in Washington.

Vocal advocate for school choice
Glenn has also been a vocal advocate for school choice. He believes that all children should have access to a quality education. For this reason, Glenn authored legislation providing a refundable tax credit to parents of children in private schools.

On Health Care:
ObamaCare is a harmful, bungled system
Glenn Grothman will stand in staunch opposition to any further expansion of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) and will actively fight for its full repeal. This harmful, bungled system has already created an enormous burden not only to the business
community but to millions of American workers and families. The economic security and financial freedom of individuals and businesses has suffered under this law, and the problem will only get worse as more provisions become fully implemented.
The failings of ObamaCare will continue to have a real human impact which cannot be ignored. The time to stop the insidious progress of this law is now. We need an active, effective voice in Washington to continue to push for the full repeal of ObamaCare
When we look at reforming health care in the future, I'll use the free market as my guide. Shopping around creates competition and competition breeds efficiency which results in lower costs for everyone.

On Immigration:
Carefully controlled immigration protects us from enemies
America is a nation of immigrants, and there's a reason for that. America is and always has been the land of opportunity. We have prosperity. We have freedom. We have a stable and lawful society that people from all over the world want to become part of.
Unfortunately, our freedom and prosperity has also earned us enemies throughout the world that want to do us harm, and that's the real issue behind the idea of having carefully controlled immigration system.
When there are entire nations and terrorist organizations that want to bring death and destruction to America, we need to be very careful in who we allow to enter our country.
The bottom line is we need to be sure that the people we are letting in are
properly screened and examined to ensure that they come here with lawful intentions. We need to close down the border and get back to an orderly legal immigration system in order to ensure a safe and prosperous future for America.

On Tax Reform:
Tirelessly pursue lowering property and income taxes
Senator Glenn Grothman is an outspoken leader in the Wisconsin Legislature on advocating and implementing tax cuts across the board. Glenn believes the only way to grow the economy is to give more money back to the hard-working taxpayers.
One of Glenn's greatest legislative accomplishments is the Manufacturing and Agricultural Tax Credit. This credit will essentially make manufacturing and agriculture, the foundation of Wisconsin's economy, tax free.
This is one of the most significant pro-jobs tax change that the state legislature has enacted.
Glenn has also tirelessly pursued lowering the property and income taxes. He was proud to vote for
$2 billion of tax relief in the last two legislative sessions. His goal in Congress is to lower income taxes across the board to provide relief for over-taxed families throughout the 6th Congressional District.

On Welfare & Poverty:
Concerned about massive trend towards government dependency
Glenn has been a longtime advocate for reform of the welfare system. He is very concerned about the massive trend towards government dependency. The number of people on Food Stamps has gone from 17 million as recently as 2001 to 47 million today. The
number of people on disability has risen from 5 million people to almost 9 million people in the last thirteen years, all while job safety has improved greatly.
The rush towards government reliance is resulting in the erosion of the American family,
which will have severe, negative consequences for the next generation. Glenn has introduced legislation in Wisconsin to reform these programs, but again and again changes are blocked by federal laws and never-ending regulations that preempt reforms on
the state level.
Congress needs a leader to stand up and fight. Glenn has consistently proven he is unafraid to tackle even the most formidable issues. He will fight to make reform of these government programs a top priority for Republicans.
