On Budget & Economy: Keynesian economics is no way to stimulate the economy

Q: Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?

A: No.

Q: Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?

A: No.

Q: Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?

A: Yes. I do not believe in Keynesian economics as a way to stimulate the economy. I believe in the free markets and free enterprise system as the best way to stimulate the economy. This can be accomplished by reducing government regulation and mandates.

On Education: Department of Education should be eliminated over 3-5 years

Q: Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?

A: No. I believe that the Department of Education should be eliminated over a 3-5 year process through attrition and reassignment. The monies should be returned to the States and education should be left at the State level.

On Energy & Oil: Department of Energy needs to be eliminated

Q: Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?

A: Yes. I believe that America should already be energy independent and setting the example on how to address energy issues. Unfortunately this is not the case. We should be utilizing those responsibly while letting the free market develop new energy technologies. The Department of Energy needs to be eliminated and all uranium enrichment and nuclear technology needs to be transferred to the Dept. of Defense.

On Immigration: First, secure the borders; then a path to citizenship

Q: Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?

A: Yes. Washington has failed to lead on this issue. The first thing we must do is secure the borders. The technology and infrastructure exists to do so. The second thing we must do is issue an ID card for all non-US citizens presently in the US. We need to create a workable guest worker program that will allow migrant workers to go back and forth from their home countries to the United States without hassle. They would pay taxes into the general fund but not receive any benefits. Finally, we need to streamline the path to citizenship.

On War & Peace: Defend if Iran attacks us, but no military prevention
